On Saturday, June 7th, a free, open-to-the-public screening and panel discussion of the LAF film, Ancestral Artistry, will take place at Plessy Day 2025, an annual community event hosted by the Plessy and Ferguson Initiative. This year's event will honor the skilled African American and Creole craftsmen who helped build the 7th Ward and shape New Orleans’ iconic architecture. In partnership with the New Orleans Master Crafts Guild, the event highlights the legacy of builders like Homer Plessy’s family and how their traditions continue today.
