About the Award
Each year, the LAF selects and honors an individual(s) who has inspired the advancement of architecture in Louisiana through notable works.
Eligibility
Non-Architect individuals, corporations, organizations, and groups whose good works have encouraged, fostered, or promoted the understanding and appreciation of Louisiana architecture.

2025 LAF Patron of Architecture Award Recipients
Louisiana Tech University School of Design
ARCH335 Design I Build Studio
In the nomination submission, supporters described the Design Studio’s ten year-plus partnership with MedCamps of Louisiana. MedCamps is an organization created to improve the health and wellness of people living with chronic illnesses and disabilities through unique recreational and educational camping opportunities. Deal, Brooks and the students at the LA Tech Design Studio were responsible for facilities at MedCamp’s “Camp Alabama” in Choudrant, LA.
The nomination described how the Louisiana Tech Design Studio brought “thoughtful, spirited design to children with chronic illnesses and disabilities-places where architecture is often missing. Though modest in budget, the projects honor dignity, inspire play, and elevate quality of life."
